I never planned to start a business, it kinda just happened…
Hello everyone and welcome to the Looped by Liv website.💗 I am super excited to share this next step in my journey with you all. Firstly, I would like to introduce myself. My name is Olivia (Liv) and I live in a small town just outside of Aberdeen, Scotland. I grew up in Ayrshire and Moved to Aberdeen to start my career as a secondary school PE teacher. Alongside my job, I like to keep myself busy and have always loved reading and colouring. I find that doing things which keep my mind bust has done wonders for my mental health.
Where it all began...
In 2025, I moved into my first house and was looking for a new hobby. I have always loved the idea of crocheting/knitting but never thought it would be something I would be able to do. At school I wasn't very good at art and I was certainly not creative. I was the type of person who needed a step by step guide for EVERYTHING, which is probably why I loved colour by numbers😂
I saw a video online of a girl who created a tutorial on how to crochet a toy bee, so I decided to order the materials and give it a go. I found it really tricky as the yarn was so thin and I was struggling with some of the patterns. I then decided to research the different types of yarn available and came across recycled t-shirt yarn. I found some inspiration online and ordered some cheap t-shirt yarn to give it a go. It's safe to say my first few attempts at creating a bag were awful but with every attempt, my work became better.
The moment “Looped” was born
I remember sending some pictures of my bags to friends and family and many of them wanted me to make bags for them! With lots of consideration, I decided to order more yarn and created an Instagram and Tik Tok page to showcase my creations. This is the part where Looped by Liv was born! I created the name as I thought it was super catchy and when I started yarning, my most favourite part of the bag process was the loops at the start (as it was the easiest!). Initially, I didn't plan on selling the bags but the more designs I posted, the more people enquired about prices and if I was selling them. I couldn't quite believe the positive response I got. Little did I know I would be able to create my own bags from scratch and have people wanting to purchase from me.
I absolutely fell in love with creating my bags and spent most nights after work crocheting and packaging up orders. Over the last year I cannot believe how much my little business has grown and I am so thankful to everyone who has supported me in my journey so far. I have sent out over 100 orders and have sold bags at multiple craft fairs. Creating this website has been such a massive leap but I am so excited to share it with you all and I can't wait to create your orders! I am proud of what my small business is becoming and I can't wait to see what the rest of the year has in store for Looped. 🥹
